Creating Film Study Units for Middle School Second Language Teachers

This workshop will outline the process for creating a well rounded second language unit on the movie of your choice, in the language of your choice! Atendees will explore how to encorperate writing, reading, and speaking activities as well as the culutural components associated with their film of choice. Gather the tools and frame work to apply this method to a variety of TV Shows, movies and even books!

  • Meaghan Bowes

    Meaghan is a Middle School Teacher who lives and works in Saanich on Vancouver Island. She teachers Core French and Visual Arts for Grades 6-8 and loves to combine the two subjects any chance she gets!

    Kindra Harte

    Kindra is our current Vice President for BCATML and she is the BCLCA Treasurer. She teaches both French and Spanish in the Saanich School District where she is also the District Coordinator for Languages. Kindra teaches at the University of Victoria in the Teacher Education Department where she teaches both Methodology courses and Assessment courses. She is an author for Pearson Education and has worked for many years on Curriculum at the BC Ministry of Education.
