We are trying to let students experience authentic tasks and connect to the real world, but it seems to be difficult to plan language activities for beginner students to engage with current topics in Japan. In this session, I will show you some examples of how to design language activities incorporating current topics about Japan in a meaningful way, especially for beginner level. Participants will be invited to share their experiences and ideas, too.
Type of Session: Workshop (or presentation)
Strands: Additional Languages (Japanese)
Target Audience: Grade 7-12
